Chicken Road game in Canada: the 98% RTP, four modes and where to play

Chicken Road is a crash-style game by InOut Games. A chicken crosses lanes of traffic, and every lane it clears raises your multiplier — from ×1.03 on the first Easy lane. You pick one of four modes and cash out whenever you like; one bad step ends the round. Below: every lane of every mode, recorded in the provider’s demo from Canada, and the casinos that carry the game.

Easy: 24 lanes, top multiplier ×19.44. Every number is read off the road in InOut’s own demo, opened from a Canadian IP on September 27, 2026. Wins stop at the 10,000 USD max win in the game rules, so a top lane on Hard or Hardcore pays the cap, not the full multiplier.

What Chicken Road is

Chicken Road is a single-player casino game from InOut Games, released on April 4, 2024, with a published RTP of 98%[1] . It belongs to the crash family: a multiplier grows until something ends the round, and you decide when to take the money.

Here the multiplier sits on manhole covers across a road. The chicken steps from one cover to the next. Each safe step moves you to a higher number; a collision ends the round and the bet is lost. The rules panel puts the goal in one line: cross as many covers as you can, and cash out whenever you like[2] .

This page is about Chicken Road by InOut — the casino game. The “chicken crossing the road” gambling games from other studios are compared on the chicken-crossing gambling game page.

How one round works

  1. Set the bet. In InOut’s demo the range is 0.01 to 150 USD in play money[2] ; each casino shows its own limits in CAD.
  2. Pick a mode. Easy, Medium, Hard or Hardcore. The mode sets how many lanes there are and how fast the multipliers climb.
  3. Press Play and step. The chicken moves one lane. If it survives, the multiplier on that cover applies to your bet.
  4. Step again or cash out. Nothing forces you forward. Cash out, and the win is paid at the current multiplier.

That fourth step is the only real decision in the game. How to play Chicken Road walks through it with the numbers for each mode.

The four modes in numbers

We opened the provider’s demo from a Canadian IP on September 27, 2026, and read every cover on the road. The board above shows them lane by lane; the summary:

ModeLanesLane 1Lane 5Lane 10Last lane
Easy24×1.03×1.23×1.63×19.44
Medium22×1.12×1.98×4.96×1,788.80
Hard20×1.23×3.36×15.21×41,321.43
Hardcore15×1.63×15.21×890.19×2,542,251.93

Two things stand out. Easy is long and flat: after ten lanes you have ×1.63. Hardcore is short and steep: the first cover already pays ×1.63. The game doesn’t print the chance of a collision — its menu only labels it “Chance of collision” — so the steeper multipliers are the clue to the bigger risk per step.

RTP 98%: what it means, and what it doesn’t

InOut publishes a 98% RTP for Chicken Road[1] . Over a very large number of rounds, the game is designed to pay back about $98 for every $100 wagered. The figure comes from the provider’s page; the game’s own rules panel doesn’t print it.

It doesn’t tell you what happens in one session. A single round is either a cash-out or a loss of the whole bet, and short sessions swing far from 98% in both directions. RTP describes the game over millions of rounds, not your next ten.

The max win caps the top lanes

The in-game rules in InOut’s demo set a max win of 10,000 USD[2] . On Easy that cap is out of sight. On Hard and Hardcore it matters: at a 1 USD bet, Hardcore’s lane 11 (×2,643.89) is already worth more than a quarter of the cap, and the last lanes are paid at the cap, not at the full number on the cover. Casinos can apply their own limits; the cashier or game info at each casino shows them.

InOut’s demo runs in the browser with play money, and it’s the same game as the real-money version — same four modes, same lanes. The Chicken Road demo page loads it from InOut’s servers only when you press the button.

Chicken Road 2.0

The sequel, released April 15, 2025, is longer on the easy end (30 lanes on Easy) and has a lower published RTP of 95.5%[3] . The differences, mode by mode, are on the Chicken Road 2.0 page.

Is it real, and is it allowed?

The game is real: provider, published RTP and a demo you can open yourself. The three checks are on is Chicken Road real or fake. Whether you can play it for money depends on your province — the rules are on is Chicken Road legit in Canada.

My take

I play Easy or Medium and decide the exit before the round starts: on Medium I take lane 4 (×1.70) or lane 5 (×1.98) and don’t argue with myself. The game hands you a new decision on every lane, and that’s exactly where sessions go wrong. If you’re new to it, spend ten minutes in the free demo first, watch how often the chicken gets fried on your chosen mode, and only then decide what a round is worth to you.

Questions people ask about Chicken Road

What is the Chicken Road game?
A crash-style casino game by InOut Games, released on April 4, 2024. You guide a chicken across lanes of traffic; each lane it clears raises the multiplier on your bet, and you can cash out at any point. If the chicken gets hit, the round ends and the bet is lost.
How do you play Chicken Road?
Set a bet, choose a mode (Easy, Medium, Hard or Hardcore), press Play and step forward one lane at a time. After each safe lane you decide: step again or cash out at the multiplier shown. See how to play Chicken Road.
What is the RTP of Chicken Road?
98%, as published by InOut Games on the game’s page. The RTP isn’t printed inside the game’s own rules panel; if a casino uses a different setting, check the game’s info panel in its lobby.
Is Chicken Road real money?
At online casinos, yes: you bet real money and the multiplier applies to it. InOut’s own demo uses play money only. See playing Chicken Road for real money.
What is the highest multiplier in Chicken Road?
The last Hardcore lane shows ×2,542,251.93, but the game rules cap any win at 10,000 USD in the provider’s demo, so the cap is reached long before that lane.
Is there a strategy that wins at Chicken Road?
No. Each step is random, and no pattern, “predictor” or “signal” can see the next lane. The only decision you make is when to cash out.
